PAINT BY NUMBER MAGAZINE, PBN COLLECTIVE
ABOUT PBN COLLECTIVE
Paint By Number is Lucy Webster, Hannah Prizeman, Romily Alice, Kelly Culver and Anna Malcolm; a group of 5 practising artists who are besotted with the DIY art scene and love making excuses to hang out. This Northern based collective’s ideas may have started over a glass of wine and some light-hearted discussions, but have evolved into a manifesto for the promotion of creativity. Together, this collective will show 2016 not only how great contemporary art is, but how important it is for our communities.
ABOUT PAINT BY NUMBER MAGAZINE
Paint By Number is a platform for all things creative. A collective of 5 graduates and current students of artistic subjects founded Paint By Number in late 2015, as a response to the blossoming UK DIY art scene and with hopes of forming a sense of community among artists. As admirers and supporters of independently published print, the group found a small gap where a fine art publication belonged.
Since initial concepts, their plans and actions have grown stronger. This has led to the launch of Issue 1 of Paint By Number magazine, alongside a carefully curated exhibition of current, UK based contemporary artists, designers and photographers.
Selling out within 24 hours both online and at the launch, a limited number of the debut issue has been reprinted. Containing the work of 34 artists and exclusive interviews with Clandestine Collective, Sarah Vo and more. This full colour magazine is just the beginning of Paint By Number’s printed journey, as the collective work on delivering new and exciting ways to highlight the importance of creativity.
